Fig Smut Eau de Parfum

This perfume began last October when I gathered fig leaves to dry and tincture for this inevitable perfume. Fig leaf has an unusual character of creamy, almost milky like notes along with soft green and woody aspects.

I wanted a fig perfume that didn't fall into the typical fig and coconut category, so I set about crafting this perfume around a vision of deep summer, warmed skin and woods.

This perfume contains house-made dried fig leaf tincture, lending it the glorious shade of green that it is and the lactonic effects of true fig leaf.

Pure fig leaf greets you as it slowly settles into opened fig fruit, skin musk, creamy woods with whispers of distant orange blossom.

Top notes: fig leaf, bergamot, milky sap

Mid notes: green fig fruit,orange blossom, heated skin, costus ollifac

Base notes: matured fig wood, summer dried grass

Each perfume bottle is made of quality glass and numbered to denote its small batch nature.

Fantastic Fig

Fig is one of those notes that make me want to try it all; every single thing I can get my grubby little hands on. I love its slight bitterness and the juxtaposition between that and the warmth of the dried fig wood and grasses. The orange blossom lends a lovely floral component to everything on dry down. This is a scent I want to spend more time with and get to know as it continues to age.

Favorite summer scent

I cannot describe what it smells like but i want to bathe in this. Its like goldilocks porridge for me. Not too sweet, not too green , not too musky. It is just right.

Spicy, herby-green, comforting.

While this didn't have quite the fig leaf scent I was looking for (oh, boohoo! Why can't it smell just like MY fig tree? *eyeroll at self*) this scent is dynamic! It actually has an herbal, almost spicy opening that quickly gives way to the fig leaf top note. I didn't believe that perfume should be gendered but I believe some would call the opening salvo masculine-leaning. But the real joy and enjoyment comes from the intoxicating dry down. The woods notes tie everything together and keep the scent going for more than a day! I hope this comes back in full size in the future.
